Hanbok
is Korean traditional clothes. Nowadays, Koreans wear Hanbok only on
the specific festivals, such as New Year, or on the important
ceremonies, like weddings. In the past, there were many kinds of
Hanboks from the royal to the civilians. In Korea, the class(階級)
and the age are
significant. Therefore, it is simple to understand the identities of
different Koreans from their clothes. For example, if you see a
Korean wearing the glorious, shiny, beautiful Hanbok with countless
accessories, he or she may belong to the upper class.
Although
there are various kinds of Hanboks, we can find all of them have
similarities. For females, whether she is a queen or a civilian,
Hanbok includes a short jacket and a long skirt. Besides, some of
female Hanboks have another cloth in front of the jacket, especially
for queens, servants and doctors in the palace, and so on. On the
other hand, for males, the skirt is replaced with the trousers.
